David Wesley Adkins

David Wesley Adkins, 53, of Broad Branch, of Big Ugly, WV, departed this life on April 27, 2020 at his residence.

He was born February 28, 1967 in Columbus, OH, the son of the late Robert R. Adkins and Joan McGatha Adkins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, John W. & Sarah McGatha and Okie & Della Belle Adkins, one sister, Susan Workman and one nephew, Andrew Peterson.

David enjoyed his forestry and fire fighting careers, tinkering with machines and gadgets, pulling pranks on friends and talking and telling stories with his loved ones and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory include one sister, Robin Manns and her husband, Ernie; two nephews, Jonathan and William Peterson; four nieces, Carrie Manns, Sandra, Ashley, and Kayla Workman; two great nephews, Carson and Kingston Petersons; several aunts, uncles, cousins and a multitude of friends.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, May 2, 2020 at the Duty Cemetery at Broad Branch, Rev. Donnie Wells officiating.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
