Daniel Workman, of Holden, West Virginia, passed away on July 14 at the age of 68. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
In his earlier years, Daniel worked in construction and concrete. Outside of work, he loved spending time outdoors, riding four-wheelers, and always appreciated a nice car. Above all, he cherished time with his children, grandchildren, and family. He never missed an opportunity to tell a story or share a laugh, and his warmth, humor, and gift for storytelling left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his children, Nathaniel (Carolyn) Workman, Derrick (Rachel) Workman, Alyssa Rainwater, Devon (Flora) Rainwater, and Alexis "Lexi" Rainwater; his sister, Glenna Jo Collins; his brother, Roy (Teal) Workman; his grandchildren, Lanee Lambert, Zack (Heather) Workman, Casey Yon, Allie Browning, Lillie Browning, Tyler Carter, Lydia Workman, Serenity Rainwater, and Dakota Rainwater; his great-grandchild, Winston Workman; and his former spouse, Drema Workman, who remained a dear and lifelong friend.
He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Kellie Conley, Eddie (Michelle) Bias, and Sheena (Bryan) Farley, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
Daniel was preceded in death by his son, Dustin Rainwater; his parents, Fred and Brookie Workman; his brother, Dana "Mikey" Workman; his sister, Karen Workman; and his nephews, J.R. Workman and Joseph Bias.
He found his greatest happiness in spending time with those he loved, especially his grandchildren, and he never met a stranger. His stories, humor, and generous heart left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Though he will be greatly missed, the memories he created and the love he shared will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.

Visitation will be on Monday, July 20, 2026 from 6:00-9:00 pm at Freeman Funeral Home.
