Dallas Dalton, 86, of West Hamlin, WV formerly of Harts, departed this life on June 13, 2022 at the Heritage Center, Huntington, WV.
He was born February 1, 1936 in Harts, WV, the son of Rev. Melve & Brook (Tomblin) Dalton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sara Elizabeth (Meeks) Dalton; five brothers, James, Thurl, Lawson, Walter “Pen”, and Walker “Fatty”; four sisters, Agnes Mullins, Minerva “Gretel” Sizemore, Beulah Tomblin, and Anna Douglas Dalton.
Dallas was a member of the Guyan Freewill Baptist Church. He loved playing his guitar, work on his tractor, coon hunting and spending time with his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory include one son, Scott (Pam) Dalton; one daughter, Tena (Brent) Townsend; three grandchildren, Dustin (Melody) Dalton, Matthew (Heather) Wilson and Natalie Brook (Max) Barlowe; five great-grandchildren, Dylan Dalton, Keria Manchester, Silas and Suri Wilson and Emarie Brook Barlowe; one brother, Peter (Flora) Dalton; one special niece, Annette Dalton Bailey; one brother-in-law, Gary (Alice) Meeks; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Thursday, June 16, 2022 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at the Guyan Freewill Baptist Church.
Services will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, June 16, 2022 at the church with Greg Dalton and David Lucas officiating. Burial will follow at the Browning Cemetery, Manns Knob, Harts, WV.
Pallbearers will be Flea, Grover, Dustin, Matt, Kevin and Brent.
Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
