Connie Dean Vance

Connie Dean Vance, 66 of Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on May 28, 2020 at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston, WV. 

She was born September 5, 1953 in Holden, WV the daughter of the late Virgil Tomblin and Sylvia Hensley Smith. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Kermit Smith, her loving daughter, Melissa Ann Vance and brother, Dennis Tomblin. 

Connie loved spending time with family and friends and going to church with her love James Baye Farley.  She was a member of Chapmanville Church of Christ. 

Those left to cherish her memory include one son, Scott (Margaret) Vance of Telford, TN; two sisters, Donna (Lucian) Kirk of Harts and Iris (Larry) Davison of Medina, OH; two granddaughters, Holly and Melissa whom she loved dearly; her special friend, James Baye Farley; and a host of family and friends. 

Due to the CDC and the State's recent mandate on public gatherings, related to COVID-19, only 25 people or less are permitted at the services. 

Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Johnny Steel officiating. Burial will follow at the Hensley Cemetery, Harts, WV. 

Friends may call Tuesday, June 2, 2020 from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm at the funeral home. 

Pallbearers will be James Bryant, Chris Gore, Drew Roberts, Earl Spry, Treven McNeely, and Trey Gilman.
