Claude "Sam" Tiller, Jr

Claude “Sam” Tiller, Jr., 84, of Proctorville, OH, formerly of Logan, WV, departed this life on February 24, 2020 at his residence.

He was born March 16, 1935 in Kistler, WV, the son of the late Claude “Dink” Tiller, Sr. and Rebecca Thompson Tiller.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jane, brothers and sisters, Jean Nelson, Nora “Sis” Burgess, Carolyn Sue Bailey, Mary Frances, Jack, Kenneth, Charles Richard and Donald Ray Tiller, his in-laws, Frank and Ora Carver, brothers-in-law, Elwood and Reggie Carver.

Sam found his greatest joy in providing for his family and spending quality time with them. He also loved travel, antique cars, and spending time in the garage with his friends.

Those left to cherish his memory include one daughter, Marissa; one son, Doug Tiller and his wife Alicia; four grandchildren, Amanda Jane Ottaviano and her husband Peter, Samantha Ball, Robbie Ball, and Adam Ball and his wife Alexa; six great grandchildren, Aubree, Maddox, Gemma, Rocco, Luke and Jayden; special niece, Eugenia “Jeannie” Adams, Cheryl Hammond Martin; and his life long friends, the Hanshaws.

Services will be held at 7:00 pm, Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Freeman Funeral Home.

Visitation will be on Thursday, February 27, 2020 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm at the funeral home.

Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Skeens, Danny Farley, Keith Martin, J.J. Frye, Bryan and David Carver.
