Claude Yeager, 94 of Switzer, WV, departed this life on June 26, 2024 at Trinity Healthcare, Logan, WV.

He was born July 4, 1929 in Branchland, WV the son of the late Lloyd Yeager and Martha Music Yeager.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Clella Yeager, son, Terry Lee Yeager, daughter-in-law, Linda Sims Yeager, sister, Mae Messinger and cousin, Gen. Chuck Yeager.

Claude enjoyed fishing, camping, tinkering in his garage and seeing his regular customers at his service station for 57 years.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving companion, Peggy Jean Hodge; daughter, Cindy (Mark) Damron; son, Gary (Mori) Yeager; grandchildren, Justin (Olivia) Stapleton, Stephen (Kishia) Stapleton, Erin (Joe) Eddins, Adam (Lindsay) Yeager, Katie Yeager and Scott Bittinger; great grandchildren, Kayne, Kylie, Emmett, Lillian, Hudson, Anniston, Ellison, Stiles, Jolie, Quinn, Lexy and Tyler; special daughter-in-law, Cindy McCloud Yeager; and his special friends, Sam Pinion, Sheriff P.D. Clemens, Colonel Jack Chambers, J.J. Frye, Dickie Browning, Glenn Ables and Jabo Adams.

The family would like to thank the staff at Trinity Healthcare for all their compassion, support and care they showed Claude.

Services will be held at 1:00pm, Monday, July 1, 2024 at Freeman Funeral Home with Jody Bias and James Tony Robison officiating. Burial will follow at the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill, WV.

Visitation will be on Sunday, June 30, 2024 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be members of the WV State Police and Logan County Sheriffs Office.
