Charolette Ruth Smith

Charolette Ruth Smith, 70 of Harts, WV departed this life on October 15, 2023 at her residence.

She was born January 27, 1953 in Logan, WV the daughter of the late Millard and Armilda Adams.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Weltha Jean Kirk, Cynthia Bell Adams, Phyllis Ann Black; and her father and mother-in-law, Sherman Smith Jr. and Muriel Jean Dalton.

Charolette enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, traveling with Ray to Tennessee and Myrtle Beach, and playing with her great-grandbaby Walker.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Sherman Ray Smith of Harts, WV; son, Garron Ray Smith of Harts, WV; sisters, Lily Mae Church of Harts, WV and Darlene Godfrey of Collins, OH; grandchildren, Austin (Shayla) Smith of Salt Rock, WV; great-grandchild, Walker Ray Smith of Salt Rock, WV; and niece who is more like a daughter, Shawnetta Wiley of Harts, WV.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 from 6:00 to 9:00pm at Freeman Funeral Home.

Services will be held at 12:00pm, Thursday, October 19, 2023 at the funeral home with Adam Kirk, Manasses Hensley Jr., and Arthur Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Adams Dempsey Cemetery, Harts, WV.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Walsh, Nathan Walsh, Tommy Dempsey, Austin Smith, Ersel Workman, and Keith Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Smith, Jeremy Toney, Joseph Napier, Richard Adkins, Scotty Smith, Greg Smith, and Mikey Kelly.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
