Charlotte Sue Vance Durkee, 77 of Sharples, WV, departed this life on November 6, 2025 at Boone Memorial Hospital.

She was born August 25, 1948 in Madison, WV the daughter of the late Raymond and Phyllis Vance.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Norman “John-John” Durkee; sister, Kimberly Rudolph; brother, Donald Vance; grandson, Vance Rudolph; and her mother and father-in-law, John N. and Alice Durkee.

Charlotte enjoyed the beach, driving a school bus for Logan County and Boone County, her fur babies, Beanie, Sara, Loki, and Troubles. She enjoyed studying, worshiping, and sharing her knowledge of the Lord.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, John Durkee; three daughters, April D. Tompkins, Bobbie Joe Tompkins (Richard Patrick), and Carol Horne (Glen); five grandchildren, Lorene Baldwin (Josh), John “JD” Rudolph, Keiton Tompkins (Samantha), Sara Horne, and Lauren Horne; seven great grandchildren, Walker Baldwin, Rylee Joe Baldwin, Ryker Shaffer, Titus Baldwin, Bane Tompkins, Rylynn Rudolph, and Alexa Durkee; two sisters-in-law, Kaye Miller Vance and Lauren (Bob) Daily; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends of Monclo.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, November 16, 2025 at the Monclo Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Lane and Rev. Daniel Lane officiating.
