Charles "Charlie" William Bias

Charles William “Charlie” Bias, 85 of Danville, WV departed this life on August 27, 2023 at his residence.

He was born January 17, 1938 in Hewett, WV the son of the late Elbert and Fairlena Bias.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Veronica Elaine Bias; sisters, Irene Spencer, Dona Cook, Garnet Cook, and Marylene Flint; and brothers, George Bias, Emory Bias, Walter Bias, and Opie Bias.

Charlie was a dedicated member of the Spencer Methodist Church. He loved watching the Cincinnati Reds, mowing the lawn, coaching ball teams, spending time with family and most of all his nightly Bible studies with his wife.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Delores Mullins Bias of Danville, WV; children, Charleen and Mitch Smith of Hewett, WV, Dawn and Glen Akers of Danville, WV, and Wesley and Jodie Bias of Hewett, WV; grandchildren, Teryan Sanders, Kandace Thompson, Joe Thompson, Kameron Akers, Kristyn and Michael Caldwell, Ciera and Zach Peters, and Chase and Autumn Bias; great-grandchildren, Haleigh Sanders, Gavin Thompson, Alyssa Sanders, Addie Bias, Lainey Caldwell, and Arie Charlie Mae Bias; special sister-in-law, Sue Inge of Amherst, VA; and a host of family and friends all who are very special.

A very special thank you to all who have called, messaged, or stopped by to visit with our family at this trying time. To all those who have brought food, drinks, etc thanks isn't even enough to show our appreciation. Please continue to keep us in your prayers. To Dignity Hospice, thanks for all the attention and care that you've provided these last few weeks to our loved one. You certainly were appreciated. To each of you, you really made a huge difference in all our lives. We'll never forget your care and prayers that were prayed by your staff, you will always be remembered and forever in our hearts. Thank You All! Special thank you to Radeana Dotson for serving as an advocate between us and his doctors, you are so appreciated and loved.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 6:00 to 9:00pm, at the Spencer Methodist Church.

Services will be held at 2:00pm, August 31, 2023 at the church with Guerrant Craddock, Tom Bias, and Roger McCauley officiating. Burial will follow at the Boone Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Bias, Chase Bias, Kameron Akers, Joe and Gavin Thompson, Zach Peters, Michael Caldwell, and Tim Elkins.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
