Charles Zackary Vance, 69 of Harts, WV, departed this life on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, WV.

He was born July 14, 1955, in Holden, WV, the son of the late Lee and Stella Vance.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Rebecca Orme; grandchild, Dustin Spry; brothers, Randy Jo Vance, James Timothy Vance Sr. and Ricky Dale Vance; sister, Lena Watts; grandfather, Worsh Vance; and his best friend, Clyde Scarberry.

Charles enjoyed going to church, coon hunting, grandkids, working on cars and bluegrass music outings.

Those left to cherish his memory include two daughters, Amy Vance and Melissa Vance; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; siblings, Icindy Freeman, Lisha Adams, Roxieeamey and Lee Vance; and special niece, Stacey Jarrell.

Services will be held at 1:00pm, Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at Freeman Funeral Home with Michael Paul Vance officiating. Burial will follow at the Vance Cemetery, Harts, WV.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Freeman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Zack Orme, Tyler Sperry, Owen Blevins, Brian Spry Jr., Clifton Belcher and Oney Mullins.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
