Charles D. Farmer

Charles D. Farmer, 82, of Harts, WV, departed this life on Friday, May 12, 2023 at his residence.

He was born November 21, 1940 in Logan, WV, the son of the late George and Lula Mae Runyon Farmer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, P.D. Marion and Mary Farmer; his father and mother-in-law, Golden A. and Garnett Dingess Adkins; one son, Timothy C. Farmer, two grandchildren, Matthew and Missy Farmer, and seven brothers, Willis, Marion, Raymond, Earnest, Clifford, Enoch, and Tony Farmer.

Charles enjoyed gardening, mowing, woodwork, camping, working with horses in garden plowing, going to church, being a member of the Chapman Memorial Freewill Baptist Church, and spending time with family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Helen Marie Adkins Farmer; one daughter, Tammy (Bruce) Farmer Workman; one sister, Gail (Randall) Clevinger of Danville, WV; three brothers, Jerry (Faye) Farmer, Dale (Karen) Farmer, both of Harts, WV, Bob (Angie) Farmer of Man, WV; brother-in-law, Golden (Kat) Adkins; four grandchildren, Amanda (Homer) Farmer of Branchland, WV Felicia Dawn (Marvin) Workman of Harts, Nathaniel Cole (Alexis) Workman of St. Albans, WV, and Keiton Tompkins; seven great-grandchildren, Christopher Matthew, Nicholas Kohl, Caleb Ryan, and Joshua Dylan Farmer, Laila and Timothy Cheeseman, and Emilee Paige and Brantley Workman; two sisters-in-law, Betty Farmer and Mary Jane; and Daughter-in-laws, Darlene Farmer and Bobbi Jo Tompkins.

Services will be held at 1:00pm, Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Freeman Funeral Home with Joe Triplett officiating. Burial will follow at Golden A. Adkins Cemetery, Harts, WV.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from 6:00 to 9:00pm at Freeman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
