Burl “Mike” Brumfield, 76 of Alum Creek, WV, passed peacefully at his residence on November 4, 2024.

He was born November 24, 1947, in Huntington, WV the son of the late Gene and Mary Brumfield.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by thirteen siblings and his dog Benji.

Mike was a hardworking man and a wonderful husband and father. He was the best dad and loved his kids dearly. Mikes eternal life is now at rest after working 56 years with KFC. He was very passionate about his job where he started out as a cook and worked his way up to operations manager. Mike was a lifetime loyal fan of Elvis Presley, so much that an impersonator married him and Lillian in Las Vegas. If you ever asked Mike to go on vacation, Las Vegas was his go to spot. He will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 20 years, Lillian and their dog, Rusty; his daughter, April (George) Goodrich of Georgia; his son, Michael Brumfield of Fayetteville, WV; stepson, Clinton Whitt (Ashley Stamper); step-grandchildren, Christian, Ethan, Hayley, Brooklyn and Blake; sister Linda of South Carolina and brothers, William of California and Charles of South Carolina.

Services will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, November 10, 2024, at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. David McCloud officiating.

Visitation will be on Sunday, November 10, 2024 from 1:00pm – 2:00pm at the funeral home.
