Buford Collins

Buford Collins, 80 of Sharpsburg, KY, departed this life on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at his residence.

He was born March 25, 1946 in Harts, WV, the son of the late Harrison Collins Sr. and Virgie Collins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Issac & Manura Collins and Rufus Thombin & Cynthia Thombin; his in-laws, Tolbert & Junie Hall; his daughter, Maryann; his son, Rodney; sisters, Lucille Bryant and Florence Morris; brothers, Preston Collins and Rufus Larry Collins.

Buford enjoyed coon hunting, rabbit hunting, squirrel hunting, and bluegrass gospel music.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Bitha Collins; daughter, Lora Lynn (Marty) Collier; brother, Harrison (Patricia) Collins Jr.; and his special nephew that he thought of as a son, Joshua Ray Collins.

Visitation will be on Friday, July 3, 2026 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Freeman Funeral Home.

Services will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, July 3, 2026 at Freeman Funeral Home with Elbert Collins Jr. and Dave McCloud officiating. Burial will follow at the Steven Hensley Cemetery at Buck Fork in Harts, WV

Pallbearers will be family.

Honorary Pallbearers will be friends and family.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
