Brent Matthew Baker, 52 of Chapmanville, WV formerly of Fayetteville, WV, departed this life on February 27, 2025 at his residence.

He was born October 23, 1972 in Montgomery, WV the son of the late Guy & Barbara Baker.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Guy Sr & Ethel Baker and Luther & Dorothy Koontz, one brother, Mark Lawhorn and his father-in-law, Freddie Adams.

Brent was a truck driver for 10 plus years. He enjoyed fishing, sports, and traveling with his wife and kids. Brent loved taking pictures and spending time with Clara and his other grandkids.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Cheryl Baker; daughters, Kathleen (Daron) Light, Amanda (Shane) Likens and Brittany Ooten; son, Brandon (Nica) Baker; grandchildren, Clara Light, Nevaeh Likens, Alexis Ooten, Aaliyah Ooten, Isaac Ooten, Sawyer Likens, Cayson Likens and Tanner Likens; sisters, Holly (Craig) Mitchell, Anna Lawhorn, and Jackie (Tim) Souder; brother, Charles Baker; and his mother-in-law, Linda Adams.

Services will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Freeman Funeral Home with Roger Ooten and Tammy Whitt officiating. Burial will follow at the Adams Cemetery, at White Oak, Chapmanville, WV.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 7, 2025 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
