Bernie Aldridge, 86 of Harts, WV, departed this life on August 2, 2024 at his residence.

He was born October 1, 1937 in Kiah Creek, WV the son of the late Walter Aldridge & Brookie Workman Aldridge.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Owen Aldridge, one grandson, Albert Carter, one great grandson, Austin Carter, daughter-in-law, Vickie Aldridge, one brother, Wilburn (Darlene) Aldridge, two sisters, Della (Rockne) Bender and Mary Lou Nelson and his father and mother-in-law, Cecil & Fannie Manns.

Bernie was a member of the Little Harts Freewill Baptist Church and where he was a deacon. He enjoyed watching his grandkids play, and watching his dog play, he also enjoyed spending time with friends in the community.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Effie Manns Aldridge; daughters, Brookie (Dallas) Carter, Joyce (Robert) Workman and Pamela (David) Kinser; sons, Bernie Aldridge Jr, Dale (Angie) Aldridge, David Aldridge, Michael (Brandi) Aldridge and Greg (Gina) Aldridge; sister, Carol (Perry Jr) Ramey; twenty grandchildren; a host of great and great-great grandchildren; and his special friends, Warren Lowe Jr, Buck Lowe, Gary Meeks and Silford Ramey.

Services will be held at 1:00pm, Sunday, August 11, 2024 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Watts officiating. Burial will follow at the Albert Carter Family Cemetery, Frances Creek, Harts, WV.

Visitation will be on Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
