Benny Anderson Gilco Obituary

Benny Anderson Gilco, 76 of Accoville, WV, departed this life on November 12, 2024 at Cabell Huntington Hospital.


He was born October 10, 1948 in Amherstdale, WV the eldest son of the late Thomas Leo Gilco Sr and Addilee Gilco.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ella J. Gilco, son, David Aaron Gilco, brothers, Terry, John and Alvin Gilco, two nieces, Tamara Gilco and Amy Gilco, one nephew, “Little John” Evans and one brother-in-law, Rick Evans.


Benny enjoyed painting ceramics, watching war movies, classic cars and reading Louis L'Amour books.


Those left to cherish his memory include one daughter, Michelle Rayburn (Samuel Schaufler) of Colonial Heights, VA; one son, Charles “Chuck” Anderson Gilco of Colonial Heights, VA; one sister, Angeline “Angie” Hopson of Accoville, WV; two brothers, Thomas “Tom” Leo Gilco Jr of Accoville and Paul David Gilco of Oceana, WV; five grandchildren, Gage Woodward, Emily Gilco, Casey Rayburn, Austin Rayburn and Blake Milby; one great-grandchild, Kaiden Rayburn-Carson; and his uncle, Kenny Tackett.


Services will be held at 11:00am, Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at the Lundale Freewill Baptist Church with Bobby Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar, WV.


Visitation will be on Monday, November 18, 2024 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at the church.


Pallbearers will be family and friends.


Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
