Barbara Lois Varney, 90 of Dingess, WV, departed this life on October 6, 2024, at Dingess, WV.

She was born December 6, 1933, in Kirk, WV, the daughter of the late Russell Mullins and Fern Mullins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Varney; daughter, Barbara Dingess; son, Steven Kent; two brothers, Cecil Mullins and Mack Mullins; and a special cousin, Bernice Blair.

Barbara was a homemaker and enjoyed church, bingo and spending time with her family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Amber Chandler; son, Daniel Varney; ten grandchildren, Daniel Steven Varney, David Dingess, James Meade, Evan Varney Cheyanne Varney, Danielle Varney, Homer Allen Spry, Marvin Derek Spry, Alex Chandler and Joey Chandler; a special granddaughter-in-law, Mary Varney; and 15 great grandchildren.

A special thank you to Elaina Ray for taking such good care of her.

Services will be held at 1:00pm, Monday, October 14, 2024, at Freeman Funeral Home with Greg Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at the Varney-Dingess Cemetery, Dingess, WV.

Visitation will be on Monday, October 14, 2024, from 12pm to 1pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
