Barbara Elaine Adkins, 68 of Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on November 22, 2024, at her sons home on Wheatley Branch.

She was born August 19, 1956, in Madison, WV, the daughter of the late Emil Sutphin and Delta Mae Elkins Sutphin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Billy Ray” Adkins; son, Jason Adkins; sister, Kathy Chandler; brothers, Emil “Brother” Sutphin, Mikey Sutphin and Timmy Sutphin; paternal grandparents, Jesse James Sutphin and Nellie Kincaid Sutphin; maternal grandparents, Gilbert Elkins and Luke Elkins; in-laws, William and Beulah Adkins; brothers-in-law, Phillip Cooper, Jerry Thomas, Clifford Adkins, Nathan Adkins and Chipper Chandler; and sisters-in-law, Wanda Adkins and Charlene Bryant.

Barbara enjoyed going to yard sales and talking to family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Brian (Heather) Adkins; sisters, Trisha Cooper and Kay Thomas; brothers, David Sutphin and Jerry (Jeannie) Sutphin; grandchildren, Candice Adkins, Demi Adkins, Landon Adkins, Bailey Adkins and Owen Adkins; great grandchildren, Jaxon, Legend, Cohen Aldridge, Winter Ray, Avery Hudkins and Roman Williamson; brother and sister-in-law, Glen and Nellie Adkins; brother-in-law, Arden Adkins; sisters-in-law, Rose Adkins and Cindy Sutphin; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 7:00pm, Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Freeman Funeral Home with Jerry Sutphin and Joe Lane officiating.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the funeral home.
