Arnold Wayne Messer, 80, of New Windsor, New York, formerly of Piney, Harts, WV, departed this life on April 13, 2020 at his residence.
He was born September 22, 1939, the son of the late Anna Mae Carter and George Messer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Messer, brother, George Messer Jr, sister, Lottie Messer, and grandparents, Lottie & Tom Dillion.
Arnold served his Country with 22 years in the Air Force. He retired from Stewart Air Force Base in Newburgh, New York. Arnold loved the West Virginia Mountains and loved to ginseng. He leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles that he loved dearly. When he visited West Virginia he always went to Piney to see his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Ola Mae Messer; son, Scott (Mary Ellen) Messer; three daughters, Robin (Thomas) Tamer, Sonja (Peter) Yanetta and Ami Tucker; five grandsons, Conner Adam and Jacob Messer, Thomas and Riley Tamer and Michael; seven granddaughters, Kimberly and Alex Messer, Kendall Tamer, Ginger, April, Holly, and Alexis; one great-granddaughter, Beverly Rose Messer; two brothers, Jimmy and Emory Carter; and two sisters, Emma Mendez and Nellie Mangus.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 pm, Thursday, April 23, 2020 at Farris-Dillion Cemetery, Piney, Harts, WV with Jimmy Carter officiating.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
