Arlene Harvey Maynard, 54 of Verdunville, WV, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 29, 2025.

She was born July 29, 1971, in Elyria, OH, to the late Darrell Natcha Harvey and Narsie Bryant Harvey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Quinton Adams; her in-laws, Roland Adams, Linda Cox Maynard, and Jeff Maynard; and a special sister-in-law, Kelly Warren.

Arlene's life was one rooted in love, kindness, and song. From an early age she shared her gift of music. She sang alto in The Harvey Family for many years.

Arlene never met a stranger. She was always quick to lend a hand or help anyone in need.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Jackie Maynard, with who she shared many years and memories; her sister and lifelong best friend, Sonya Harvey; and a special cousin, Thomas (Patty) Harvey, who was more like a brother. She also leaves two stepchildren, Brandon (Jamie) Maynard, and Brittany (Felix) Hale, and is remembered by step-grandchildren, Landon, Elijah, and Owen Hale, and Hollie and Hadlee Maynard.

But the greatest joys of Arlene's life were her nephew and niece, Jeremy Adams and Candace (Dana) Bennett, whom she loved as her own children. That love grew even greater when she became “Lennie” to her “grand” niece, Camille Bennett, and her “grand” nephew, Dawson Bennett, who brought her endless pride and happiness. They were her heart and she theirs.

Services will be held at 12:00pm, Monday, October 6, 2025, at Freeman Funeral Home with Glen Tomblin, Barney Goins, and Jeremy Adams officiating. Burial will follow at the Harvey Cemetery, Branchland, WV.

Visitation will be on Sunday, October 5, 2025, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Adams, Dana Bennett, Zachary Donahue, Caleb Conley, Trey Baisden, AJ McKinney, Jesse McKinney, and John Lane.
