Anita Maria Ritter, 61 of Whitman, WV, received her heavenly reward on June 12, 2022 at her home surrounded by family and friends, after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
She was born January 14, 1961 in Holden, WV the daughter of the late Arnold “Spike” & Jessie Frazier Kelly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David P. Ritter, grandparents, Gordon & Nellie Kelly and Emmett & Victoria Wiley Frazier, brother David E. Kelly and her in-laws, Rex H. & Marjorie Ritter.
Anita enjoyed spending time with family, cross-stitching, watching Golden Girls with her daughter and sisters. She was the recipient of the Mercy Award in 2013. Anita was very strong willed and never liked to complain. She worked in many businesses in Logan, including The Park Restaurant, JT Fish, American National Bank, Matewan National, then finally at Guyan Valley transitioning to Logan Regional Medical Canter where she worked for Dr. McCleary and then Dr. Perez as a receptionist.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Stacie Maria; two sisters, Bonnie (Raymond) Workman and Ina Kelly; sister-in-law, Sharon Kelly; three grandchildren, Katelyn Marie, Christopher Ray and Logan Tyler; nieces, Tara (Bazzle) Lambert and Amy (Jeremy) Harless; great-niece, Grace Lambert; her two very special fur babies, Brody and Benji; a host of special friends & family; and her Logan Regional Medical Center and Guyan Valley family.
Stacie would like to thank the staff of Logan Regional Medical Center and Dignity Hospice for the excellent care we received while Anita was there and Anita's sisters and friends who have called or messaged during this time of need and the Hilltop Freewill Baptist Church.
Visitation will be on Thursday, June 16, 2022 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at the 14 Whitman Freewill Baptist Church.
Services will be held at 3:00pm, Friday, June 17, 2022 at the church with Pastor Jeremy Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill, WV.
Pallbearers will be Chris Wooten, William Hill, Jeremy Ross, Kevin Hill, Kevin Douglas Hill, and Chad Wooten.
Honorary pallbearers will be the men of the church and Dr. Robert McCleary.
Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
