Alvin Payne, 80 of Logan, WV, departed this life on November 22, 2025 at CAMC General Hospital, Charleston, WV.

He was born May 16, 1945 in Logan, WV the son of the late Leonard and Olive Payne.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Alvin Jason Payne and Alvin Payne II and three brothers, Leonard Payne Jr, Lawrence Payne and John W. Payne.

Alvin enjoyed the outdoors. He loved playing with the kids, taking them fishing and riding the 4-wheeler. Alvin also enjoyed hunting and sitting on the porch.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Katherine Payne; daughters, Carlin Facey, and Sherri Flannery (Mark), sons, Jeremy Hill and Leonard Caden Payne; step-sons, Noah Lowe, and Joseph Tyler; brothers, David Payne (Dora), James Payne, and Lonnie Payne (Pat); sisters, Julia Payne, Linda Lloyd, and Sue White (Dee); eight grandchildren, Ross Payne, Gabe Payne, Chad Facey, Savannah Hill, Blake Yeager, Cylee Facey, Will Flannery and Ashley Flannery; special friend, Anet Brewster; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Services will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Freeman Funeral Home with Selina Isaacs officiating. Burial will follow at the Payne Family Cemetery, Chapmanville, WV.

Visitation will be on Saturday, November 29, 2025 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
