Obituary
Alvin Dingess, 69 of Chapmanville, WV departed this life on August 17, 2023 at his residence.
He was born January 22, 1954 in Logan, WV the son of the late Jim and Neary Dingess Adams.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annette Dingess; daughter, Charity Dingess; sisters, Goldie Atkins and Midge Fowler; and brother, Ray Dingess.
Alvin was a coal miner of 30+ years. He enjoyed helping others, working outside, carpentry, gardening, cooking, and family gatherings.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Rachel (Mike Sutherland) Silva and Cynthia (Julius Turner) Dingess; son, Brian (Christina) Dingess; brothers, Ravin Dingess and Irvin Dingess; grandchildren, Gabriel Silva, Parker Dingess, Sidnee Ferrell, Bryleigh Dingess, Annabella Silva, Sophie Ferrell, Ashley (Kevin) Brown, Chad Turner, Brandon Turner, Michael Sutherland and Cash Sutherland; special nephew, Steve (Tina) Fowler; close friends, Bud Stollings, Carl Blevins, and Chig Murray; and a host of brother and sister-in-laws.
Memorial service will be held at 12:00pm Monday, August 21, 2023 visitation from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Freeman Funeral Home with Manasses Hensley officiating.
