Allen Dorton

Allen Dorton, 61 of Chapmanville, WV, went home to be with the Lord on April 29, 2020 at Logan Regional Medical Center. 

He was born February 17, 1959 in Holden, WV, the son of Handy Dorton and the late Harry Dorton. 

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Handy Conley, one granddaughter, Cheyenne Gullet and one brother, Sonny Dorton. 

Allen enjoyed going to church, hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. 

In addition to his mother, those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Dinah Dorton; six daughters, Venus Simpkins, Heaven Dorton, Beth Dingess, Sam Vanhuss, Rebekah Dorton and Rozella Moore; four sons, Jon Dorton, Robert Vanhuss, Michael Dorton and Timothy Simpkins; one sister, Paulie Johnson; three brothers, Robert Dorton, Roger Dorton and Roy Dorton; fifteen grandchildren, Joe Burgess, Haley Dorton, Dakoda Varney, Chace Dorton, Sydney Smith, Hayden Smith, Josh Vance, David Vance, Nathaniel Hall, Colby Hall, Sarah Conley, Cody Moore, Cheyenne Simpkins, Harlee Vanhuss, and Eli Vanhuss; also survived by Eugene Sparks. 

Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday May 4, 2020 at Freeman Funeral Home with Bo Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Toppings Cemetery, Limestone, Big Creek, WV. 

Visitation will be on Monday, May 4, 2020 from 12:00pm – 1:00pm at the funeral home. 

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
