Alfreda (Elkins) Tomblin

Alfreda (Elkins) Tomblin, 95 went home to be with the Lord on May 28, 2022.

She was born August 24, 1926 in Logan, WV the daughter of the late Delmont & Ruby (Hager) Elkins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, Ural Tomblin, four brothers, Jess Willard Elkins, Mont Vernon “Pete” Elkins, Landville Elkins, Larry Del Elkins and Donald Elkins, one sister, Gloria Mae Ellis and two sons-in-law, Richard Wilcox and James Mabry.

Alfreda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and she loved her church family dearly. She was a member of the Mill Creek Church of God. Alfreda enjoyed being a homemaker, canning, cooking and spending time with her family. She was known for her delicious apple pies.

Those left to cherish her memory include her six children, Sharlene Mabry, Willa Jean (Marshall) Mooney, Patricia Wilcox, Ural Jr. (Judi) Tomblin, Wanda (David) White, and David (Rita) Tomblin; fourteen grandchildren, Jimmy Mabry, Christopher Mabry, Marsha Todd, Sharon Harrier, Karen Courtney, Cheryl Spak, Jason Wilcox, Jeff Tomblin, Sam Tomblin, Kelly Hardy, Daniel White, Ryan White, Jake Tomblin, and Joshua Tomblin; thirty great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; one brother, Otis Estil Elkins; and two sisters, Avonell Evans and Audrey Faye Meness.

Services will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the Mill Creek Church of God with Rev. Robert Day and Rev. Stephan Webb officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Memory Gardens, Old Logan Road, Pecks Mill, WV.

Visitation will be on Friday, June 3, 2022 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at Freeman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
