William "Saul" Soloman Finley

William Soloman “Saul” Finley, 81, of Stuarts Draft, VA formerly of Dingess, WV, departed this life on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at the Augusta Health in Fishersville, VA.

He was born July 27, 1936 in Dingess, WV a son of the late Charles and Ersie Finley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Marie Finley, one son, William Jerry, one grandson, Harold Ray Curry Jr, four brothers, Homer, Leonard, George and Ralph Finley, two sisters, Margaret Hager and Virginia Johnson and his father and mother-in-law, Pearley and Mary Porter.

Saul loved to go hunting and fishing, but the main thing was serving the Lord. He was a member of Calvary Freewill Baptist Church at Dingess. Saul retired from Mingo County Board of Education as a custodian. He was a good husband, father and son. Saul will be sadly missed.

Those left to cherish his memory include one daughter, Mary Lou Meade and her her husband Johnny of Stuarts Draft, VA; four brothers, Curtis and Paul both of Ohio and Bill & Bernard both of Dingess; two sisters-in-law, Lola Wellman of Lenore and Linda Fleming of Dingess; one granddaughter, April Marie Meade of Stuarts Draft, VA; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, July 8, 2018 at the Calvary Freewill Baptist Church, Dingess, WV with Sid Moore officiating. Burial will follow at the Freeport Cemetery, Dingess, WV.

Friends may call Saturday, July 7, 2018 from 6 – 10 pm at the church.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
