Virgil Gene Moore

Virgil Gene Moore, 68, of West Hamlin, WV, departed this life on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, WV.

He was born March 8, 1951 in Kiahs Creek, WV, a son of the late Edward Roy And Opal Caldwell Moore.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth, Buddy and Ronnie Moore and his father-in-law, Norman Poe.

Virgil enjoyed fishing, working on cars, watching TV and spending time with family, friends and grandsons.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Deborah Moore of West Hamlin; one daughter, Virginia Moore of West Hamlin; one son, Norman (Crystal) Moore of West Hamlin; four sisters, Lola Booth of Chapmanville; Naomi Moore of Salt Rock, Lucinda (Harold) Porter of Huntington and Ottie Moore of Tennessee; two brothers, Perley (Wilma) Moore of Harts and Percy (Donna) Moore of Salt Rock; two grandchildren, Reba Moore and Ethan Moore; sister-in-law, Freda Moore; and his mother-in-law, Virginia Poe of Putnam, WV.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home with Jimmy Carter officiating. Burial will follow at the Webb Cemetery, Ranger, WV.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 21, 2019 from 12 - 1 pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Inn lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Freeman Funeral Home to help with arrangements.
