Sylvia Rena (Maynard) Nelson

Sylvia Rena (Maynard) Nelson, 63, of Logan, WV, departed this life on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Logan Regional Medical Center.

She was born December 5, 1954 in Harts, WV, the daughter of the late Jerry and Madeline (Moore) Maynard.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Milton & Emaline Maynard and John Wesley & Sylvia Moore, her son, Jerry Mcarthur Nelson, two brothers-in-law, Willard Adkins and Hubert Nelson and her father and mother-in-law, William “Bill” & Della (Estep) Nelson.

Sylvia enjoyed spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she spent many hours on her computer which she enjoyed.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Delmas “Delmer” Nelson of Logan; three daughters, Regina Evalina (Steven R.) Hensley of Logan, Kimberly Dawn (Erwin O.) Smith of Lyburn and Bonnie L. (Manuel “Willis”) Hensley of Chapmanville; three sisters, Shelia Ann Adkins, Wanda Sue Nelson and Joyce Fay Maynard all of Logan; three brothers, Ricky Ray (Francis) Maynard and Randy Gay (Lolie) Maynard both of Harts and Owen Jan (Kelly) Maynard of London, OH; eight grandchildren, Allison Rena Hensley, Steven “Tyler” Hensley, Kalee Dawn Hensley, Joseph Scott Smith, Hannah Elizabeth Smith, Bryson Odell Smith, Christopher (Cindy) Hensley and Nathaniel ((Kayla) Hensley; two great grandchilren, Chloe Harper and Corbin Lewis Hensley; and her special friends, Helena Maynard of Harts and Connie & Sparky Maynard of Ironton, OH.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, June 8, 2018 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Burgess officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Old Logan Road, Chapmanville, WV.

Visitation will be on Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 6 – 9 pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Steven “Tyler” Hensley, Bryson Smith, Owen Maynard, Ricky Maynard, Randy Maynard, Logan Maynard and Robert “Robbie” Adkins.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
