Ronald Manns

Ronald Manns, 80, of Frances Creek, Harts, WV, departed this life on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at his residence.

He was born August 15, 1938 in Wayne, WV, a son of the late Lucian and Georgie Farley Manns.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jessie Manns and Nary Toppins Manns, one son, James Ronad Manns Jr, five brothers, Clarence, Jesse, Wondel, Willie “Coke” and Challis, two sisters, Nary Chapman and Martha Brumfield, and his in-laws, Manley and Elsie Maynard.

Ronald enjoyed preaching the gospel, going to church, spending time with family, gardening, and volunteering at the Harts Senior Citizen Center.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 61 years and 11 months, Shirley Manns; three daughters, Tammy (Glen “Sambo”) Frye, Pamela (BJ) Adkins and Sherrie (Ronnie) Tackett; one son, Anthony (Brenda) Manns; four sisters, Dellean Davidson, Mabel (Danny) Cook, Glenith Maynard and Sessie Manns; one brother, Donald (Minnie) Manns; grandchildren, Glen (Marsha) Frye, Joseph (Sarah) Frye, Russell (Ramona) Walls, Samantha Farley, Tommy Norman, Nicole (Jon) Adkins, Amanda Lucas, Jacob “Jake” Manns, Elsie (Thomas) Kirk, Ashley Manns, Veronica Manns, Brandy Adkins and Jake Adkins; great grandchildren, Allison, Matthew, Roxy, Raegan, Ellie, Georgianna, Sophia, Greyson, Silas, Lillie, Mason and Austin; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Eddie Chapman, Manley Jr & Alvetta Maynard, Billy Joe & Freddie Maynard, Jimmy & Bobbie Maynard, Dave & Pat Maynard, Edward “Pokey” & Glenna Maynard, Anna Manns, Lenora Maynard and Phyllis Manns; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank L.C.O.C. for the best caregiver, Daniel “Danny” Messer for the best care to Ronald and Helena Maynard and Mavis Walker for always being there when we needed them.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home with Barney Goins and Earl Ramey officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill, WV.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 from 6 – 9 pm at the the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Manns, DJ Manns, Jacob Manns, Allen Marshall, Tommy Norman, and Glen Frye.

Honorary pallbearers will be Russ Walls, Ronnie Tackett, BJ Adkins and Eddie Manns.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
