Robert Adkins

Robert Adkins, 86, of Sarasota, FL, departed this life on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital.

He was born February 21, 1933 in Logan, WV, the son of the late Allen and Agnus Rakes Adkins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Flora Mae Adkins, one son, Robert Glenn Adkins, brothers, Karma Adkins, Franklin Adkins, Lester Adkins, Ned Adkins and Don Adkins, sisters, Orpha Workman, Disey Cooper, and Erssi Black.

Bob enjoyed playing bingo, hunting, and spending time with family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory include one daughter, Diana Adkins; two sons, Andrew (Meagan) Adkins and Danny Ray (Marilyn) Adkins; grandchildren, Marcus, Julie, Jennifer, Jackie, Matthew, Austin, Jessica, Melissa, Benjamin, Jonathon, Logan and Sara; and sixteen great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rocky Chafin officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill, WV.

Visitation will be on Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Freeman Funeral Home.
