Nora Jewell Thompson

Nora Jewell Thompson, 81, of Harts, WV, departed this life on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Dignity Hospice House, Chapmanville, WV.

She was born April 27, 1937 in Logan, WV, the daughter of the late Charles & Beatrice Farris.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Thompson, one grandson, Justin Alan Thompson, two great grandchildren, Emma Ann Thompson and John Wesley Tabor and several brothers and sisters.

Jewell loved trout fishing, digging ginseng, gardening, going to church, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Those left to cherish her memory include her five sons, Larry (Iris) of Ranger, WV, Gary (Sherry) of Pataskala, OH, Roger (Ann), Randy (Janet) and Keith (Rhonda) all of Harts; two sisters, Lucille Farris of Mt. Gay and Fanny Janell of Lebanon, VA; two brothers, Darrell Farris of Chapmanville and Donnie Farris of Logan; eleven grandchildren, Chip, Stewart, Renae, Derrick, Amy, Becky, Pam, Kim, Josh, Nikki and Lulu; and twenty four great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, September 28, 2018 at Garrett Chapel, Garrett Fork Road, Chapmanville, WV with Kenny Kirk and Adam Kirk officiating. Burial will follow at the Rebel Adkins Cemetery, Harts, WV.

Visitation will be on Friday, September 28, 2018 from 12:00 – 2:00 pm at the church.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Dignity Hospice of Chapmanville in her memory.
