Melinda (Fillinger) Thompson

Melinda Fillinger Thompson, 42, of Logan, WV, departed this life on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at her residence.

She was born December 10, 1975 in Logan, WV, a beloved daughter of David & Lynn (Browning) Fillinger of Harts, WV.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Marsha Fillinger Wiley, paternal grandparents, Blaine & Ella Fillinger, maternal grandparents, Clarence “Red” & Barbara Browning, two uncles, Dennis “Dink” & Ronnie Fillinger, one aunt, Kay Walker and one cousin, Jason Smith.

Mendy enjoyed visiting the beach, spending time with her kids and grandbaby and going for walks.

In addition to her parents, those left to cherish her memory include two loving children, Cortney (Khaleel) Reynolds and Walter Elmore III both of West Logan; she was a special sister to David Fillinger Jr, Melissa (Ray) Dillon, both of Logan, Brittney (Chris) Eplin of Dingess and Justin Fillinger of California; one granddaughter who was the love of her life, Raelynn Reynolds and expecting one grandson, Daxton Cole Reynolds; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Memorial services will be held at 7:00 pm, Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Elbert Collins Jr officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

Visitation will be on Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 6:00 – 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Freeman Funeral Home to help with arrangements.
