McKenna Dawn, 22 months, of Hamlin WV went to be with Jesus on July 17, 2018 at her home. Born September 9, 2016 at Huntington WV she was the beloved daughter of Shawna (Cody Turley) Marcum and Verlin Sergent II of 9 Mile. She is preceded in death by her great-great grandparents Ward and Dorothy Lucas.
McKenna was a ray of sunshine who loved birds, especially owls, playing jokes and tricks on everyone, and is loved beyond words. Those left to cherish her memory is her mommy Shawna Marcum of Hamlin, her “Poppy” Jerry Burton of Big Ugly, “Nanny” Suzanna Marcum of Atenville, Mamaw Jessica (Papaw Ron Hammond) Stevens of 9 Mile, and Mamaw Gail Papaw Paul. Her great grandparents, Momaw and Popaw Delores and Jerry Burton of Big Ugly. Her Uncle Greg Keyser and his companion Liddia Dalton of Chapmanville. Her aunts, Tosha (Sarah) Sergent, Amber Turley, Tosha (Josh) Thomas, & Chasity Stevens, and uncle Ron Hammond. Her great Aunt and Uncle Lisa and Johnny Hill of Man. Her cousins Haven Keyser, Khia Sutphin, and Rachel Hill. Great Grandparents, Carolyn Spence, Leck Turley, Debbie & Danny Stevens, and Helen & Earl Sergent. Along with her step sister Emily and her beloved Misty “Mimi” Stump.
Services will held at Greenshoals Freewill Baptist Church at Greenshoals on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at 12:00 Noon with Bro. Frankie Frye officiating. Burial will follow in Lucas Family Cemetery on Big Ugly, WV. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 10:00 PM on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Greenshoals Freewill Baptist Church.
