Linda Kay (Porter) Fleming

Linda Kay Fleming, 70, of Dingess, WV, departed this life on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at her residence.

She was born April 14, 1949 in Dingess, WV, the daughter of the late Pearley and Mary Porter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her grandparents, Charlie and Elviria Canterbury and Bill and Martha Porter, eighteen brothers and sisters, and her mother-in-law, Luna Fleming.

Linda enjoyed cooking, and going to church. She loved her family and friends very much and would help anyone in need. Linda helped establish many churches and was a cook for 15 years for 3 and 4 year old children.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Arthur Bill Fleming; two daughters, Mary F. Baisden and Shirley “Cricket” Hall; three sons, Anthony Baisden, John Baisden and Jonathan Fleming; her loving and devoted sister, Lola Wellman, whom we thank with all our hearts for her care of Linda and being there for Mary and her husband Bill; grandchildren, Rhonda K Munro, Angelena R Messer, Addison Messer, Marissa Baisden, Patrick Marcum, Courtney Canterbury, Michael Baisden, Jonathan Washburn, Robert Baisden, Tiffany Baisden and Glenna Washburn; a host of great-grandchildren and brothers and sisters in law that she loved dearly.

The family would like to thank the 5th floor nursing staff at Logan Regional Medical Center, especially LaCosta Beheler, all of the hospice nurses who gave Linda TLC, friends and family who prayed, called, or visited us through this journey of life, you made it easier when life was hard. Our words are not enough gratitude. God bless you all.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at the Mt. Hope Freewill Baptist Church at Dingess, WV with Darrell Newsome officiating. Burial will follow at the Freeport Cemetery, Dingess, WV.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 from 12 – 1 pm at the church.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
