Katie Mae (Bryant) Shelton

Katie Mae (Bryant) Shelton, 82, of Genoa, WV formerly of Harts, WV, departed this life on Monday, May 6, 2019 at her residence.

She was born April 9, 1937 in Mud Fork, WV, the daughter of the late Frank and Rosie Bryant.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her son-in-law, Noah Marcum and her father and mother-in-law, Grady Sr and Drewzella Shelton.

Mae enjoyed gardening, flowers, canning, quilting, Mary Kay makeup, spending time with her family and home interior.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 47 years, Grady Shelton Jr of Genoa; daughters, Tammy Marcum of Chapmanville, Kim Collins of Logan, Connie (Robert) Wanner of Ohio, Kim (John) Long of Huntington and Crystal (Ramon) Carter of Palestine, WV; sons Barry Collins of Ohio, David (Sherri) Collins of Georgia, Steve (Missy) Collins of North Carolina, Michael (Myong) Shelton of Kentucky and Matthew (Julie) Shelton of Genoa; thirty-three grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; special aunt Thelma Bills; and sister, Betty Thomas of North Carolina.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, May 10, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home with Frankie Frye officiating. Burial will follow at the Frye Cemetery, Ranger, WV.

Visitation will be on Friday, May 10, 2019 from 12 – 1 pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
