Jerry Edward Hodge

Jerry Edward Hodge, 82, of Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at the Teays Valley Center.

He was born May 30, 1936 in Peach Creek, WV, a son of the late Claude “Poker” Hodge and Thelma (Altizer) Hodge.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David Hodge, three brothers, Ronnie, Butch and David Hodge, one sister, Jeanette Hodge and his father-in-law, Theron Farmer.

Jerry owned Valley Tree Services and worked for Alcoa for 32 years. He was a veteran and enjoyed cleaning the yard and exploring nature.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Diana (Farmer) Hodge; two daughters, Carri Hodge and Lisa Hodge; two sons, Jason (Amanda) Hodge and Jerry Hodge Jr; two sisters, Peggy Hodge and Bobbie Lambert; one brother, Fred Hodge; twelve grandchildren, Katelyn (Curtis) Mounts, Kaci Hensley, Alex Hensley, Jayson, Ameila, Tabitha Johnson, David Hodge Jr, Josh, Evan, Max, Mason and Mitchell; two great grandchildren, Aria Mounts and Aubrey Blevins; and his mother-in-law, Lola Watts.

Memorial services will be on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 from 12 – 1 pm with the funeral starting at 1:00 pm at Freeman Funeral Home, with Rev. Rick Conley and Alex Hensley officiating.
