October 6, 2019 James “Spook” Dingess accended from this world at the age of 63 at his residence in Dingess, WV.
James was born on May 24, 1956 to the late Jesse James Tomblin and Emma Jean Dingess, James worked most of his days timbering for various companies while remaining diligent to his community as an invaluable factotum.
James had an unrelenting commitment to helping those who needed him, especially those of Dingess, West Virginia, he also avidly enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed laughing, reminiscing and sharing stories with his family and watching christian movies. However, his greatest treasure was the serenity of solitude where he could spend his time listening rather than speaking.
In addition to his parents James is preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Tomblin; and one grandchild, Gabriel.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Georgia Dillon; son, Patrick (Jessica) Marcum; brothers, Mitchell and Michael Tomblin; sisters, Debbie Jones, Rosemary Mendana, Jennifer Davis, Joy Keith, Teresa Bates, Tonya Jones; grandchildren Jazmine, Bryce and Chasity; a host of beloved nieces, nephews and cousins; Special friend, Sammy Spaulding.
In honor of James's wishes, services will not be held, James said, “Don't Worry, I am not going to be there anyhow”. Anyone wishing to offer condolences may forward them to Freeman Funeral Home in Chapmanville, WV.
