James E. Adams, 85, of North Fork Road, Big Creek, WV, departed this life on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at his residence.
He was born May 27, 1934 in Logan, WV, a son of the late Albert and Nellie Adams.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hattie Adams, son Billy Ray Adams, sisters, Mary Stollings, and Martha, brothers, Matthew and Robert Adams, half sisters, Dolly, Wealthy and Maude Adams, half brothers, Millard, Bolt and Howard Adams and two grandchildren, Benji and Angie.
James was a Pastor of The Glorious Church of Jesus. He enjoyed preaching, going to church, sitting on the porch and gardening.
Those left to cherish his memory include four daughters, Bonnie (Marlin) Dingess, Brenda Adams (Daniel Carter), Belinda (Jim) Anderson and Becky (Frankie) Sperry; five sons, Brady (Beth) Adams, Boyd (Pat) Adams, Albert (Tammy) Adams, James (Tina) Adams and Larry (Ellen) Adams; two sisters, May Adams and Carrie Adams; seventeen grandchildren; and twenty-seven great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home with Boyd Adams and Gary Toler officiating. Burial will follow at the Adams Cemetery, Brushy Fork, Chapmanville, WV.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 from 12 - 1 pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Larry Adams, James Adams, Daniel Carter, Brady Adams, Frankie Sperry, Boyd Adams Jr, Israel Conley and Jeremy Sperry.
Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
