H. Motto Sr. Obituary

H. John Motto Sr., 74, of Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at Lake Placid, FL, with his wife by his side.
He was born in Earling, WV, a son of the late Andy and Adda Motto.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his mother and father in law, Curtis and Carrie Butcher; and brother in law, Robert Runyon.
John was a retired coal miner and coal operator of Joshua Coal Company and Solomon Coal Company. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and rabbit hunting with his father. He loved his grandson and the time he spent with him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Peggy (Butcher) Motto; two sons, H. John (Betsy) Motto Jr. and David Andy (Della) Motto; two sisters, Sharon  Runyon and Sue (Eugene) Sparks; one brother, Andy (Kathy) Motto Jr.; one grandchild, Chase Motto; sisters and brother in laws, Linda Sima, Patti Olszewski, Carol Casey, Chris, Wesie, Gwen Butcher, Curtis Butcher Jr and a host of nieces and nephews and a special thank you to the Good Sheppard Hospice Care of Lake Placid , FL.
Military graveside rights service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill, WV, with Eugene Sparks officiating.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
