Ernest Collins

Ernest Collins, 59, of Hewett, WV, departed this life on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at his residence.

He was born July 23, 1960 in Chicago, ILL, a son of the late Ernest Collins and Garnett Sammons.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Darsula Collins and John D and Jane Stanley and one brother, Robert Collins.

Ernie enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling and woodworking. He loved his church.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Angie Collins of Hewett; three sons, James (Amanda) Jewell, Jesse Jewell, and Larry (Laura) Jewell all of Highpoint, NC; two stepsons. Shane White of Lake and Adam White of Elyria, OH; one sister, Linda (Bobby) Miller of Chapmanville; one brother, David Collins of North Carolina; twelve grandchildren; one great grandchild; his best friend, Ronnie Gibson; and his in-laws, Leroy and Patsy Vickers.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, September 30, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home with Danny Bailey and Wiley Kent officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Old Logan Road, Chapmanville, WV.

Visitation will be on Sunday, September 29, 2019 from 6 – 9 pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
