Earl Ray Akers

Earl Ray Akers, 45, of Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Pikeville Medical Center.

He was born August 30, 1973 in Columbus, OH a son of the late Earl and Dollie Akers.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Witcher & Olive Dingess and Vernon & Nora Akers.

Earl Ray enjoyed hunting, working on cars, hanging out in the mountains 4-wheeling and spending time with his family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory include one daughter, Cheyanne Akers of Chapmanville; two sons, Steven Earl Akers and Isaac Akers both of Chapmanville; one step-son, Joseph Elliott of Chapmanville; two sisters, Delores Frye (Charlie Johnson) of Chapmanville and Donna (Jammie) Lovejoy of Sumerco, WV; his companion Martha Adams of White Oak; special friend, Steve Fowler; and a host of nieces, nephews, and great friends.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Freeman Funeral Home with Jimmy Carter and Jeff Hargraves officiating. Burial will follow at Akers Cemetery, Lenore, WV.

Friends may call Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 12 – 2 pm at the funeral home.
