Donna “Katie” Hensley Noe, 59, of Big Creek, WV, went home to be with her husband, sister and brothers on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at the University of Kentucky Healthcare in Lexington, KY.
She was born May 31, 1959 in Logan, WV, a daughter of Luther and Verlie (Purkey) Hensley of Wheatley Branch.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dana “Boodle” Noe, grandparents, Noah and Erma Hensley and William and Ella Purkey, one sister, Linda (Purkey) Atwood, three brothers, Rickey, Luther Jr and Gary Paul Hensley, one nephew, Jodie P. Lambert and her father and mother-in-law, Raymond and Velma (Tooley) Noe.
Katie loved spending time with her grandchildren, going to church, camping, fishing and 4-wheeling with her family and friends. She was a 1977 graduate of Chapmanville High School.
In addition to her parents, those left to cherish her memory include one son, Michael Noe; three sisters, Brenda Adkins of Phico, Alice (Arvid) Barker of Canoe Branch, and Tenna (Eddie) Toney of Big Creek; three brothers, Phillip (Penny) Hensley of Martinsburg, Michael Hensley of Chapmanville and Steven Hensley of Chapmanville; and two grandchildren, Jayden Noe and Amber Noe.
The family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Jon Bowen and his staff of the Coalfield Center, Logan Regional Medical Center, Tahnee Barker Mullins, the staff of the University of Kentucky Healthcare, Albert B. Chandler and the hospital staff.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, February 18, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home with Gary Toler and Eddie Toney officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Old Logan Road, Chapmanville, WV.
Visitation will be on Monday, February 18, 2019 from 12 – 1 pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Chris Adkins, Sam Hensley, Brian Tomblin and other family and friends.
