Charles Michael Carr

Charles Michael Carr, 66, of Grafton, WV, departed this life on Sunday, July 1, 2018 in Charleston, WV.

He was born October 20, 1951 in Grafton, WV a son of the late Wallace Daniel and Ruth Wright Carr.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, William C. & Georgia Weaver Wright and Charles M. & Marguarite Smithe Carr.

Charles enjoyed playing basketball, spending time with his children, working around the farm, cheering on the Mountaineers with his daughter and watching movies with his son. He loved activities with his children such as swimming, movies and WVU football games and attended WVU basketball games with his children.

Charles graduated from WV Institute of Technology with an associates degree in nursing. He worked at Thomas Memorial Hospital from the 1970's to the 1990's. Charles also received a bachelors degree in accounting from Shaw University. He was also in a lifetime basketball competition with his brother Wally.

Those left to cherish his memory include his two children, Meghan Danielle Carr and John Michael Carr; two sisters, Marguarite and Georgianna Carr; and two brothers, Wallace and William Eric Carr.

The family would like to thank the team of nurses and doctors at Hospice Care who took excellent care of Charles and his family while he was in their care.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, July 6, 2018 at the Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery with Bobby Adams officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that you make memorial contributions to Hospice Care of Charleston; 1606 Kanawha Blvd W. Charleston, WV 25387.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
