Carrie (McCloud) Fillinger, 90, of Orange Park, Florida, departed this life on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 in Florida.
She was born March 17, 1928 in Dingess, WV, the daughter of the late Miles & Viola McCloud.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alva S. Fillinger, grandparents, Calahill & Susie McCloud, and William & Mary Jane Tomblin Marcum, one daughter, Joyce F. Workman, one daughter-in-law, Linda Workman Fillinger, three sisters, Flora Vance, Bessie Kirk and Sally Collins, three brothers, Willard McCloud, Golden McCloud and Miles McCloud Jr and her father and mother-in-law, John & Rosa Fillinger.
Carrie enjoyed walking, tending to flowers, taking care of the squirrels around her house and taking special care of her dear bird.
Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Cleo (Roger) Fierst of Jacksonville, FL and Barbara (Wendell) Bryant of Verdunville, WV; two sons, Johnny Fillinger of Middleburg, FL and Elden (Etta) Fillinger of Harts, WV; one brother, Elmer McCloud of Dingess, WV; nine grandchildren, James Kotula, Ramonia Savage, Carrie Solomon, Allen Workman, Monica O'Conner, Les Workman, Clifford Spry, Jason Fillinger and Kevin Bryant; seventeen great grandchildren, Brittany, Brandon, Ian, Shelby, Liberty, Alex, Austin, Hunter, Trish, Patrick, Jonathon, Shelby, Cassidy, Sammi, Cody, Kevin Jr and Megan; and three great-great grandchildren, Winston, Dariee and Saxon.
Services will be held at 12:00 pm, Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at the Mud Fork Freewill Baptist Church with Sid Moore and David McCloud officiating. Burial will follow at the Fillinger-Workman Cemetery, at Bullwark, Big Harts, WV.
Visitation will be on Monday, September 17, 2018 from 6 – 9 pm at Freeman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
