Carolyn Jean Lucas

Carolyn Lucas, 69, of Lake, WV, departed this life on Monday, June 10, 2019 at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital.

She was born May 24, 1950 in Madison, WV, the daughter of the late King Solomon Osborne and Gladys Osborne

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her Husbands, Thurmond “Buddy” Elkins and Elmer Lucas Sr; one daughter, Tamara DeLisa Lucas; three sisters, Virginia Darby, Loretta “Joe” White and Jewel Dillon; and five brothers, Fred Osborne, Ellis Osborne, William “Billy” Osborne, John Osborne and Charles Osborne.

Carolyn enjoyed spending time with her family, she liked to cook, she loved her fur babies, always had a smile that brightened the most darkest days and had a heart of gold.

Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Angie (Larry) Shaw of Maiden, NC and Donice (Phillip) Bennett of Lake, WV; two sons, Larry Elkins and Elmer Lucas both of Lake, WV; two sisters, Ruby Stowers of Madison, WV and Violet Spence of Lake, WV; seven grandchildren, Megan (Alden) Dotson, Siarra (Freddie) Bennett, Victoria (Michael) McKellar, Larry (Shannon) Elkins II, Andrew Bennett, Allison Elkins and Katie Harrison; thirteen great-grandchildren and John Osborne Jr. who was like a grandson, William Gloeckle who was like a son and Lindell Blankenship who was a very special friend.

Services will be held at 1pm, Monday, June 17, 2019 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rocky Chafin officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill, WV.

Visitation will be on Monday, June 17, 2019 from 1pm at Freeman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends and Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Lake Fire Department.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
