Carol J. (Light) Topping

Carol J. Topping, 68, of Charleston, WV, departed this life on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at her residence.

She was born April 6, 1950 in Charleston, WV, the daughter of the late William R. & Geneva J. Light.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, James K. & Sarah J. Topping.

Carol enjoyed traveling and gardening. She loved the Lord, her church family and family gatherings.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Lyle C. Topping of Charleston; two sons, Lyle C. Topping II and Paul M. (Heather) Topping both of Harts; six sisters, Barbara Sue (Jerry) Layne of Baton Rouge, LA, Joyce (Frank) Jarvis, Janet Shaffer, Diana L. (Steve) Mullins all of Harts, Tammy (Rory) Williams of Charleston, and Juanita (Harold) Tanner of Clay, WV; one brother, Steve (Kim) Light of Atlanta, GA; and seven grandchildren, Lyle C Topping III “TRE”, Lexie "Princess" Topping, Mia Topping, Tyler Topping, Xander Topping and Gaige Matthew Topping, and Branson Mahon.

The family would like to thank Hospice Care of Charleston's nurse Joan, Laura & Jason Herald and her neighbors, Bob & Shirley Marcum, and Mike & Katrina Stuart and family, a special thanks to Jason & Helen Adkins and their church Walking By Faith Baptist for their prayers.

Services will be held at 7:00 pm, Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Freeman Funeral Home with Donnie Wells and Gary Topping officiating. There will be a private burial.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 from 6 – 9 pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family members.
