Betty Gay Farmer, 78, of Harts, WV, departed this life on Monday, October 29, 2018 at her residence.
She was born January 21, 1940 in Harts, WV, the daughter of the late Rev. George Golden Headley and Gladys Grace Workman Headley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Wallace & Vinnie Thompson Workman, Johnny and Emaline Sias Headley, her husband, Clifford Wade Farmer, one son, Clifford Neil Farmer, one brother, Jimmie Headley, and one sister, Madge Farmer and her father and mother-in-law, George & Lula Farmer.
Betty was a member of the Workman Fork United Baptist Church for 64 years, she dearly loved her family and enjoyed working with flowers, quilting, and spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Linda Thomas of Big Creek, and Janie (Gary) Hurst of Harts; two sons, Richard (Helen) Farmer of Harts, and Steve Farmer of Harts; one brother, Larry Clyde Headley of Morgantown; thirteen grandchildren, Jason (Genny) Sheppard, Jamie (Jean) Sheppard, Joe Farmer, Serina (Darryl) McCloud, Amberly (Chris) Ball, Nick (April) Hurst, Baylee Farmer, Jennifer Adkins, Hannah Hurst, Sabrina Farmer, Luke Farmer, Amanda Farley, and Chris Farley; ten great-grandchildren, Mika Sheppard, Kayla Sheppard, Kendra Sheppard, Tiffany McCloud, Ashley McCloud, Haley Adkins, Emily Adkins, Jason Sheppard, Rylee Hurst and Bonnie Ball; three great-great grandchildren, Grayson Robinson, Lexus Blankenship, and Remmington Robinson; and a special thanks to Teresa McCloud for everything she has done.
Services will be held at 12:00 pm, Friday, November 2, 2018 at Freeman Funeral Home with Manasses Hensley Jr officiating. Burial will follow at the Farmer Cemetery, Harts, WV.
Visitation will be on Thursday, November 1, 2018, 2018 from 6 – 9 pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
