Alice (Mullins) Maynard Neece

Alice Mullins Maynard Neece, 90, of Dingess, WV, departed this life on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at her residence.

She was born August 8, 1928 in Laurel Creek, WV, the daughter of the late George (Anna) Mullins and Luly York.

In addition to her parents and step-mother she was preceded in death her husbands, James Russell Maynard and Paul Neece, grandson, Dewayne “DD” Edward Bradley, sisters, Dora Lucas, Maudie Adams, Betty Deboard, Martha Gillett, and Betty Jean Vernatter, and brothers, Bill Hicks, William Mullins and Henry York.

Alice enjoyed reading the bible daily, going to church, sewing and gardening. She was a member of The 7 & 8 Holden Freewill Baptist Church with her late husband Paul Neece and attended the Trace Church of God with her children.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Joyce Maynard, Brenda (Barry) Mullins, Ann (Bill) Lucas, James “Jimmy” Maynard, Sheila (Clifford) Spry, Lynn (Terry) Murphy, Joe Maynard, and Karen Maynard; step children, Penny Pancake, Gwen (Jeff) Godar, Kathy (Freddie) Klinghammer, Gary Neece and Mike Neece; sisters, Floretta Dillon, Ann Davis, Barbara Asebes and Gracie Lily; brothers, John Mullins and George Mullins: twenty-four grandchildren; twelve step grandchildren; fifty-one great grandchildren; thirteen step great grandchildren; thirty great-great grandchildren; five step great-great grandchildren: and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 12:00 pm, Monday, May 20, 2019 at the Trace Church of God, Dingess, WV with Bobby Carter and Robbie May officiating. Burial will follow at the Newsome Ridge Cemetery, Naugatuck, WV.

Visitation will be on Sunday, May 19, 2019 from 6 – 10 pm at the church.

Pallbearers will be Johnny, Chris, Steven, Michael, Terry, Ethan, Chase, Anthony and Rusty.

Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV is in charge of the arrangements.
