Charles “Butch” Gray Hutchinson

Charles Gray “Butch” Hutchinson departed this life on April 18th. Butch, as he was known by everyone, was a devoted husband to Janet, and a loving father. He was also a proud grandpa to Gemma, Declan, and Morrigan.

He was born to Lucas Gray Hutchinson and Herma Louise (Beckett) Hutchinson on December 14, 1943 in Chapmanville West Virginia.

He is preceded in death by his father, Lucas Gray Hutchinson, mother, Herma Louise (Beckett) Hutchinson, sister, Sandra Sabo and brother-in-law, Dick Morgan.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Sue (Kelley) Hutchinson, 3 children, sons, Charles Curtis and (Samantha) Hutchinson, Christopher Scott Hutchinson, daughter, Jennifer Suzanne (Forrest Ray) McCann, 3 grandchildren, Gemma Campbell, Declan and Morrigan McCann, sister Marion Morgan, Sister-in-Law, Deloris Kelley, Brothers in law Curtis Kelley, and Tony Sabo and had many nieces and nephews.

Butch was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving from 1962 to 1970. He retired as an electrician from Georgia Pacific in Jarratt, Virginia. Butch never met a stranger and was always helping others throughout his life. He was a very caring and generous man. He also had a great sense of humor that he passed down to his children. He was often playing or subjected to pranks and was a big kid himself. Nearly everyone he knew has at least one funny story of something he said or did. He will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him.

The service for Butch will be held 12:00pm at the Chapmanville United Baptist Church on Friday, April 26 at Old Co 3/3 Rd, Chapmanville, WV.

The wake will begin at 10 am followed by the funeral, then interment at Highland Memory Gardens in Chapmanville, WV.
