Wesley Owen Burton, 50, of Greenshoal, was relieved of his earthly burdens and courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Hubbard Hospice House of Charleston at 9:15 PM. Wesley was the son of the late Martha (Adkins) and Burgess Burton of Greenshoal.
Wesley was born September 20, 1966 in West Hamlin. He was proceeded in death by one brother, Edward Burton; one sister, Joyce Frazier; and a very special aunt, Ora “Granny” Adkins.
Those left to cherish his memory include his very precious sister and caregiver, Shelia Browning, whom he resided with; two very special nieces, who he thought of as “his girls”, Stephanie (Chad) Carter and Stacy (Jeff) Bell; very special great nieces and nephews, Stephen, Sydney, Ryan, Evan, and Aubrey; brothers, Ralph Burton, Jerry (Delores) Burton; and sisters, Faye (Dale) Frye and Debbie (Charlie) Zuspan; three special souls that he loved dearly, Jeanetta, “Bub” and Aubrie. A host of nieces, nephews, and friends; and two precious dogs, Pebbles and Sissy.
Wes loved attending church, gospel music, hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and spending time with his family, friends, and dogs.
A special thank you to Dr. Mae Hyre and staff, Hubbard Hospice House of Charleston, Lucille Avis, and everyone for their prayers, contributions, and assistance through this journey.
2 Timothy 4:7-8 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”
Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, September 30, 2016 at Greenshoals Freewill Baptist Church with Frankie Frye officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be on Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 11:00 PM at Greenshoals Freewill Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be friends and family.
